More than 60 % of cars will be powered by AI in the next five years , says Globant
AI study for the automotive sector highlights advances in operational efficiency and customer experience with the application of technology generating more than one million new jobs in the sector by 2025 .

According to the estimate , by 2029 , more than 60 % of cars will be powered by AI – improving both operational efficiency and customer experience .
In an industry marked by high competitiveness and a constant demand for innovation , Globant has identified significant challenges , such as inefficiencies in internal processes and a lack of personalization in customer relationships . These issues , as per the report , result in considerable revenue losses and an unsatisfactory shopping experience for consumers .
According to market projections , the application of AI in the automotive sector is expected to reach $ 7 billion by 2027 , according to stats from the Market Research
Report , with a compound annual growth rate ( CAGR ) of 24.1 %.
At the same time , the GenAI market in the industry could reach US $ 3.9m by 2034 , according to data from strategic market insights firm Predence Research , while the application of AI in manufacturing is expected to create about one million new jobs , according to forecasts by the statistics portal World Metrics .
“ AI allows us to not only enhance the customer experience , but also to significantly optimize business operations . This underscores the immense potential of this technology to transform the automotive industry , especially when it comes to efficiency and personalization ,” said Álvaro Pujals , Business Hacking Partner , Globant .
As part of this broad initiative in the sector , the Digital Transformation conducted by Globant allowed Nissan , for example , to attract more than one million users in just three days , generating 2 , 000 qualified leads .
In addition , the company launched an online reservation system for the Nissan Ariya for customers to pre-order the car in just three lightning-fast steps , all completed in less than 15 seconds .
Another highlight was the implementation of an AI chat system , developed in partnership with Google .
This system provided Nissan with more than 113,000 successful customer interactions in the first five months – significantly improving customer service and satisfaction .
Additionally , the report explores how AI can be applied in other areas of the automotive industry , including predictive maintenance and the development of connected vehicles .
In this sense , the use of technology in these processes allows the monitoring of vehicle performance in real time , predicting failures before they occur and offering more accurate maintenance solutions – reducing repair costs and increasing safety .
