HOW AI HAS CAUSED A REVOLUTION IN THE LATIN AMERICAN JOBS MARKET

AI has triggered a revolution in the Latin American labor market , driving the creation of new roles , in addition to improving existing activities .

According to the World Economic Forum , AI is estimated to be responsible for generating 97 million jobs by 2025 , evidencing a net growth in professional opportunities . Among the sectors that are expected to generate the most new jobs driven by this technology are retail , banking , IT and marketing .
In the retail area , for example , positions such as ‘ data analyst ’ and ‘ user experience specialist ’ stand out , since the ability to analyze data processing will be essential to improve customer interaction on online platforms .
In the banking sector , the ‘ cybersecurity specialists ’, who act against irregularities in systems , mitigating risks to the business , as well as the ‘ automation consultant ’, who seeks automation mechanisms so that banking processes are more efficient with the use of AI , are examples of functions that should generate demand for professionals . In the other sectors of the market , the positions benefited include ‘ systems developer ’, responsible for the design , development and maintenance of AI systems ; ‘ ethicist specialist ’, which focuses on developing policies and regulations to ensure the responsible and ethical use of AI tools ; and ‘ digital marketing specialist ’, a role that uses technology to optimize online marketing and advertising campaigns .
In addition to the already existing professions , which will undergo transformations with the implementation of AI , new occupations are emerging , such as
‘ immediate engineer ’ and ‘ prompt engineer ’. These positions occupy a significant space with the use of AI , especially in the healthcare , finance and technology sectors , which are looking for professionals to optimize communication between humans and machines .
And the demand for people with these specialties is growing gradually in Latin America , with annual salaries that reach US $ 73,000 dollars , around R $ 365,000 reais per year , according to a study carried out by Deel , a platform for hiring and paying global talent .
All these indicators show that the presence of AI in the labor market presents a dynamic future with many opportunities , while exposing significant challenges , considering the adaptation to technological changes , the continuous development of skills and the attention to ethics .
These attributes are fundamental in this field , still under exploration , of AI , as the way forward is to ensure that the integration of the tool into society is beneficial and equitable . By embracing these transformations and addressing the challenges that arise , professionals will be increasingly prepared to thrive in this ever-evolving market .
