Netskope announces the first security solution for corporate use of ChatGPT and generative AI
Netskope , a leader in Secure Access Service Edge ( SASE ), has announced the general availability of a comprehensive data protection solution to help businesses securely manage ChatGPT and other generative AI tools such as Google Bard and Jasper .
As part of their award-winning Intelligent Security Service Edge ( SSE ) platform and decade-long commitment to data security innovation , Netskope can now successfully enable the safe use of generative AI through unique and patented data protection techniques .
Following incidents of sensitive data exposure from generative AI in 2023 , the top priority of many companies is to evaluate whether they will allow the use of these tools and how they will do so securely to support AI innovation without putting their businesses at risk . Here are some relevant statistics :
• About 10 % of companies are actively blocking the use of ChatGPT
• ChatGPT adoption is growing exponentially within companies – currently at a rate of 25 % per month
• Approximately one in every 100 corporate employees actively use ChatGPT daily , with each user sending an average of 8 commands per day
To address this challenge Intelligent SSE platform combines Netskope ’ s industry-recognized data protection capabilities with recently launched innovations to dynamically classify and control the secure use of generative AI tools .
Cyberattacks increase , intensify and diversify in Latin America
SonicWall , a leader in cyberattack intelligence and proven ransomware data , today released its 2023 Cyber Threat Report mid-year update .
The semi-annual report reveals a continuous evolution of tactical behaviors of digital cybercriminals as they opt for different types of malicious attacks compared to previous years .
Overall , intrusion attempts increased , led by SonicWall ’ s higher volume of cryptojacking globally , as cybercriminals abandoned traditional ransomware attacks in favor of a more cautious means of malicious activity .
The data suggests that increased control through anti-cybercrime regulations , heavy penalties and victims ’ refusal to pay demanded ransoms have altered criminal behavior and focused threats on other sources of income .
Despite the 77 % reduction in the number of ransomware attacks in the region , from 28 million to more than 6 million , in the same period between 2022 and 2023 , countries such as Mexico have been the most affected , being in sixth place worldwide of countries with the highest number of ransomware attacks , surpassed only by the United States , Germany , UK , Austria and Spain .
However , attempts to intrude personal and business machines in Latin America increased by 14 %. This is because hackers find weak entry points , collaborators with little protection on their work and personal devices and little training to deal with eventual attacks .
