Claro continues connecting Colombia
With an investment of more than US $ 3 billion in the deployment of fiber optics , Claro will benefit nearly 40,000 people , more than 10,000 homes and businesses in Yarumal , Antioquia , which will be positively impacted with better Internet , television and landline telephony connectivity .
This is added to and enhanced by the 4G and 4.5G network that is already available in this municipality , enhancing its communications and the development of one of the most important municipalities in the department .
The telecommunications company will make investments throughout the country to connect more cities and municipalities with fiber in 2024 , to strengthen the more than 146 that are connected in Colombia .
In this way , it strengthens its purpose of bringing technology to all corners of the country , expanding the benefits of connectivity and contributing to making a better Colombia possible . In the last month it has also connected Circasia , reaching investments that exceed six billion pesos .

IHS Brazil inaugurates technology innovation center in Santo André
IHS Brazil is inaugurating its technology innovation center in Santo André , São Paulo State , in partnership with the Centro Universitário Fundação Santo André .
Through this center , Centro Universitário Fundação Santo André and IHS Brazil will work together to explore innovative solutions , such as the potential adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence , with the long-term aim of helping make cities ‘ smarter ’.
The city of Santo André was chosen for its proximity to major centers , and to allow the product testing and future implementation of technologies to be piloted on a smaller scale .
This partnership also helps IHS Brazil strengthen ties with the academic community , with the long-term aim of becoming a talent incubator , fostering start-ups and investing in innovation in alignment with the company ’ s mission to enable connectivity . It builds on existing partnerships with the academic community , most notably , its current participation in a product development research program for the telecommunications industry with the Universidade de Ouro Preto .
