Ministry of Economy and Kyndryl Mexico launch digital skills program for MSMEs

The Mexican Ministry of Economy and Kyndryl are launching the Digital Education program to help women , young people , indigenous Mexican communities , as well as micro , small and

medium-sized enterprises ( MSMEs ) learn about and use digital tools and processes to promote sustainable economic growth .
In Mexico , MSMEs are an important driver of the economy , accounting for more than 52 % of the Gross Domestic Product and generating more than 70 % of the country ’ s jobs , according to INEGI .
According to El Diagnóstico Digital PyMEs Mexicanas 2024 , published by the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce , Services and Tourism ( Concanaco Servytur ), MSMEs that have implemented digital processes increased their number of customers by up to 20 %. However , only 15 % have an effective digital strategy .
Through this collaboration , the Ministry and Kyndryl will offer an in-person workshop , at no cost , in Mexico City , highlighting best practices and case studies on modernization and digitization , cloud utilization , data readiness for AI implementation , as well as cybersecurity and resilience .
There will also be five virtual trainings on the Ministry of Economy ’ s Facebook page , so that more MSMEs acquire vital skills to thrive in the digital economy and foster inclusive and sustainable economic development . •
