According to the latest IDC report , Brazil is expected to advance with an expansion of 12 %, ahead of the general average of Latin America .
Batista said : “ The technological landscape continues to be full of promise , opening up a vast field for innovations that will shape the future of business and the way we interact with the digital world – and it ’ s coming faster than we realize .
Batista ’ s top five 2024 LATAM tech trends are : 1 . AI : “ 2024 signals a significant change in using this technology in different innovative ways to improve results , manage resources and differentiate customer experiences ,” he said .
2 . Quantum : “ Applications in data- and computing-rich sectors , such as finance and pharmaceutical research , are expected to lead the way in the use of this tool .”
3 . Robotics : “ Organizations will begin to adopt Robots-as-a-Service ( RaaS ), marking a transition to versatile and optimized tasks .”
4 . Blockchain : “ The true rise of this front will depend on the support of governments and public agencies .”
5 . Immersive experiences : “ We will witness a steady interest in the metaverse , reaching its apex with the launch of the Apple Vision Pro in the first quarter . As a result , the main players will continue to invest , aiming to transform immersive experiences into an everyday interaction , opening frontiers in digital interconnection .”
Gilat awarded US $ 17m by Pronatel for regional telecoms project in Peru

Gilat Satellite Networks has been awarded a US $ 17 million contract by Pronatel for the expansion of a regional telecoms project in Peru .

In co-ordination with the Amazonas regional government , Pronatel is expanding the project to include connectivity to 35 new localities and dozens of new public institutions , including schools and health posts , within the Amazonas region of the country .
Additionally , Gilat will implement several free Wi-Fi hotspots and a community tele-center that includes computers , printers and Internet services for a period of 10 years .
“ Through this expansion to the Broadband Project for the Amazonas region , 37 additional schools and six additional health posts will now have Internet access to promote telehealth , teleeducation and the utilization of technological tools among the citizens ,” said Sarita Vílchez Castellanos , Executive Director of the Pronatel National Telecommunications Program .
“ Citizens will also benefit from a new digital access center and additional public squares with free Wi-Fi , further promoting inclusion and digital literacy among citizens in rural areas .”
“ Now that the necessary infrastructure for the Amazonas region is nearly competed , this expansion with Pronatel will serve the people of the region well as we move into the operational phase of the project in earnest ,” said Arieh Rohrstock , General Manager Gilat Peru and Gilat ’ s Corporate SVP .
